Theology for Kids: Who is in Charge of the Church?

Who is in Charge of the Church?

The boss of the Church is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is in charge of the Church because He bought the Church. How did He buy it? Not with money, but with His own blood (1 Pet. 1:18-19). As the boss of the Church the Bible calls Jesus the Head of the Church (Eph. 1:22; 4:15; Col. 1:18).

Jesus bought the church with His own blood
Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Jesus is the Head of the church
And he is the head of the body, the church… (Colossians 1:18)
